About Visual Chess Study method.

The method develops student’s concentration, focusing, pattern recognition and many other skills that can be considered as visualizing.

Visualizing – the ability to imagine a sequence of actions before it happens; for chess - the ability to shift pieces in a mind, first one, then several moves ahead.

The Visual Chess Study method allows study chess by numerous diagrams using exercises and tests in form of chess puzzles.

This method is used in number of modern chess textbooks.

1. CHESS TUTOR for Beginners CHESS TUTOR for Beginners - this book represents Visual Chess Study method for teaching chess for novices and beginners. The course contains three major parts: CHESS Tutor - the guide for 16 lessons and homework materials, CHESS for Boys and Girls. Part 1, The Guide for Novices And CHESS for Boys and Girls. Part 2, The Guide for Beginners The CHESS Tutor itself contains material for chess coaches for presentation on lessons and for distribution by copying as students homework (16 lessons, 32 pages, 174 diagrams). The CHESS for Boys and Girls. Part 1, The Guide for Novices contains basic chess rules, chess notation system, basic mate patterns, chess glossary, and tests. (60 pages, 436 diagrams) and it is one of sources for individual homework. The CHESS for Boys and Girls. Part 2, The Guide for Beginners contains material related to basic aspects of chess beginner level (tactics, mating patterns, combinations) with multiple tests. The main goal is to help students develop visualizing skills for chess tournaments participation. (100 pages, 642 diagrams). A tutor can copy some materials of these books for distribution to students. A student can study chess using chess diagrams and solving chess positions. The visual chess study method develops student's concentration, pattern recognition, focusing, and many other skills that can be considered as visualizing.

2. CHESS for Parents and Kids CHESS for Parents and Kids - for kids 5-7 years young who want to start learning chess and for parents who want to help them. This guide is specially designed for kids who cannot read (or cannot read fluently) textual information. But they can recognize and solve chess positions (puzzles) using Visual Chess Study method . The method develops kid’s concentration, focusing, pattern recognition and many other skills.  The guide contains 70 pages (35 pages for kids and 35 for parents with 280 diagrams), and represents all basic issues: chessboard and pieces, chess notation, how pieces move, special moves – castling, en passant, pawn promotion, samples of mating patterns and tests in form of chess puzzles.

3. The Guide for Novices The Guide for Novices (Part 1) The Guide for Novices – for boys and girls who want to start learning chess using Visual Chess Study method .. Contains 60 pages with 436 diagrams, represents all basic issues: chessboard and pieces, chess notation, how pieces move, special moves – castling, en passant, pawn promotion, rules of play, many samples of mating patterns. The Visual Chess Study method allows study chess by numerous diagrams using exercises, tests in form of chess puzzles directly from the book, without real chessboard. 

4. The Guide for Beginners The Guide for Beginners (Part 2) The Guide for Beginners Contains 100 pages and 642 diagrams related to basic aspects of chess Beginner level - tactics, mating patterns, combinations with multiple tests.

5. The Guide for Intermediate Players The Guide for Intermediate Players (Part 3) The Guide for Intermediate Players Contains 106 pages and 612 diagrams related to chess Intermediate level aspects - tactical devices, mating patterns and combinations, sample games,  multiple tests.

The Guide for Advanced Players The Guide for Advanced Players (Part 4) The Guide for Advanced Players contains 100 pages and 800 diagrams related to chess Advanced level aspects - chess game phases - opening, middlegame, endgames, multiple games of grandmasters and world champions, combinatorial puzzles and  sample games.
